Hullo again

After 2 years so much has happened that I don't know where to start. The main thing is that my husband passed away inFE February 2011. At the time I was recovering from a broken ankle so it was a very traumatic time. I was grateful for good neighbours and friends. I still have my holiday cottage so that gives me an interest and I also help twice a week at the parents and toddler group at my church. I have just got an iPad so I will be able to blog more easily. It Is a marvellous invention. I'll keep this short and then I will blog more frequently.

Busy and sad times

Thanks Sybil for asking but I have had a very busy week as my brother-in law passed away very suddenly last Wednesday. I will be away next week so will blog when I get my breath back

Will this work?!!!

I had such a lot of bother last week trying to write a blog. My password would not work and then after writing a blog when I tried to post it it disappeared and has not been seen since! Hence the title of this one.
We have had 2 beautiful days here after some snow last week. Wall to wall sunshine. Looking out you would think we were in June not March. Must get busy preparing my self catering cottage for the new season. It is 40 miles from where I stay now. It was my old home and as I did not want to sell when my mother passed away in 1991 I began to use it for self catering. We have had people from all parts in it over the years. We now only take 2 people at a time as the cleaning takes a lot of time and we are not getting any younger! My first booking is 10th April so will be busy for the next while. The people were there last year so they must have liked it when they are coming back. We do not take people in winter as we are so far away from the cottage.
I will now try to post this I am going to save it this time before posting to see what will happen.

Tuesday 16 February

I am beginning to get the hang of this now so I will add blogs when I can.

We have had a perishing cold day here today with a breeze. It felt much colder than when we had the snow some weeks back. The dog had to have his coat on every time he went out. He does not mind the weather as long as he gets his walk. A day for the fireside. It's amazing that when it is springlike weather like last week that one wants to go and do some tidying in the garden and listen to the birds who seemed very busy also. Not a lot to report from here just cuts being made by the local council to save money as the government is not allowing them to raise the council tax for the 3rd year in a row. I wonder why not? Anything to do with a date in May? I keep out of politics as much as I can. will now try to post this but don't expect pictures etc. as I am not that good with the computer yet

This is very much an experiment to see if it works. I read many other peoples so thought I would try one of my own, even if I do not lead a very exciting life on a Hebridean island
